New to Moms in Prayer? How to get started
I am so thankful for my daughters prodigal years. They changed me from being arrogant, self-righteous and judgmental into a reflection of our Heavenly Father. What a precious reminder that not only can God bring transformation in our childrens lives as we pray for them, but He also molds and shapes us into who He created us to be! Today we hear from a mother and daughter as they share their journey through the prodigal years and how the power and hope of prayer sustained them.

ABOUT OUR GUESTS
Karla Slonaker
Moms in Prayer was introduced to me 33 years ago at an informational meeting for moms of elementary school children. As I learned about MIP, I knew God was drawing me to prayer. I have benefited in so many ways, including learning the character of God and how to pray; having sincere, available prayer support, and experiencing hope and blessing while raising a prodigal teenager. Proverbs 3:5-6 is so truetrust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge Him and He will direct your paths. Now this daughter, Jaclyn, prays in a MIP group for her children and serves the ministry in her area and on our state team.
My husband Fred and I have been married for 41 years. We have three adult children with spouses and nine grandchildren. We raised our family in Wenatchee, Washington and now live near them all in Meridian, Idaho. I heard Gods Spirit call me in March 2023 to serve the women of Idaho as State Coordinator for MIP. It is a huge blessing to support, train, develop leadership across this state as we pray and fast for the salvation of students. In addition to prayer ministry, I mentor young women of all ages and enjoy a variety of crafting projects.
Jaclyn St. John
I live in Meridian, Idaho with my husband, Cody and our children, Chloe (10) and Jaxon (7), plus two dogs and a cat! By profession, I am a Registered Dietitian with Dairy West but my most meaningful roles are as a devoted daughter, wife, sister, granddaughter, aunt, and friend who deeply values the people God has placed in my life.
I have a passion for health and wellness that carries into both my professional work and everyday life. I enjoy nourishing others through nutritious food, healthy living, and spending quality time with family. Through laughter, movement and shared meals, I believe in celebrating lifes blessings and caring well for the people around me. It has been my privilege the last three years to serve Moms in Prayer Idaho alongside my mom, Karla Slonaker. Sharing our story of spiritual death to spiritual life has been a joy. She is my best friend!

ABOUT OUR GUEST
In 1994, I was a young mother of three boys and pregnant with my fourth, when my mom bought me the Moms in Prayer Booklet. I was in a stage of life where I would have protected my children from everything if I could, but I quickly discovered that was impossible. As I started praying in a Moms in Prayer group, my relationship with the Lord began to take shape. I went from knowing about Him, to really trusting Him, His name, and His character. Praying together with other moms not only taught me how to pray, but how to let go of all I wanted to control and to trust GodHis word, His work, His provision, and His plans.
My husband Tom and I have been married for 41 years and we live in Deshler, Ohio. We have been blessed with four sons, two beautiful daughter-in-loves and five adorable grandchildren. I have been a part of Moms in Prayer for over 30 years. I served as the State Coordinator for Ohio from 2015-2022. I currently serve as the Great Lakes Division Coordinator, which include Illinois, Indiana, Michigan, Ohio and Wisconsin.

but the Lord establishes his steps. Proverbs 16:9 ESV

in the presence of my enemies; Psalm 23:5a ESV
Let no one despise you for your youth, but set the believers an example in speech, in conduct, in love, in faith, in purity. 1 Timothy 4:12 ESV
If you wait for perfect conditions, you will never get anything done. Gods ways are as mysterious as the pathway of the wind and as the manner in which a human spirit is infused into the little body of a baby while it is yet in its mothers womb. Keep on sowing your seed, for you never know which will growperhaps it all will. Ecclesiastes 11:4-6 TLB
I would have lost heart, unless I had believed
That I would see the goodness of the Lord
In the land of the living. Psalm 27:13 NKJV
Tackle every task that comes along, and if you fear God, you can expect his blessing. Ecclesiastes 7:18 TLB
