Whatever our gifts are, we need to use them to build up others and point them to Christ so they can know Him and He can receive the glory. Heidi Fromke, our Appalachian Division Coordinator, joins us on the podcast today to talk through 1 Corinthians 14. She reminds us of the importance of using our God given gifts for encouraging and building up the church. In our flesh, it is easy to fall into the trap of wanting to make ourselves look good and impress others with what we can do, but God can use us in far greater ways when we live our lives for His glory.

ABOUT OUR GUEST
Learning to hold her kids loosely and trust God with them is a daily challenge which Heidi found to be especially true when her boys were just beginning school. It was during this time of trying to let go a bit that she found Moms in Prayer after hearing Moms in Prayer Founder, Fern Nichols, on the radio.
The Lord encouraged her to start a Moms in Prayer group at her sons school in 2003. She prayed with this group of moms for 17 years. They joined her in covering her boys, their kids and their school community. They lifted their requests to God and saw Him do immeasurably more than they could ask or imagine as He walked with them through a sons illness, Young Life established at the school, and students hearts turned to Christ. Heidi has come to know the Lord in an amazingly intimate way as He has shown her His love for her boys and that He truly can be trusted above all else.
She has been married to Mark, who has filled her days with laughter since 1990. They have three boys in their twenties, two amazing daughters-in-law and two grandsons! After growing up in Minnesota and spending a few years in St. Louis, they have fallen in love with North Carolina. Heidi is looking forward to watching God work as He draws other moms to experience His power, grace and loving acceptance through prayer!

New to Moms in Prayer? How to get started
Because of His love and Jesus sacrifice for us, we will fully know Him and worship Him forever. Because of Gods great love, He sent His Son so we could be in His presence for all eternity. And His love is an example to us of how we are to love others.
Today on the podcast, our United States Country Coordinator, Robin Elliott, joins us on the podcast to talk through 1 Corinthians 13, the love chapter. As followers of Christ, we are called to love others. And it may not be with the kind of love you think. Listen in to hear how God calls each of us to love those around us.

ABOUT OUR GUEST
Robin has been married to her husband, John, since 1986. When their oldest started school, she heard about Moms in Prayer on the radio and joined a group for the local school. That was the beginning of an amazing journey which has led from Minnesota to Idaho and from a group member into leadership. Robin currently serves as USA Country Coordinator.
Through Moms in Prayer, she has learned that one hour a week can put the rest of the weeks activities into perspective. Over and over, God has multiplied her time when she put Him first. She would love for each woman to have that same experience. Robin has found that when she gets busy and becomes distracted, it is easy to lose perspective and move ahead in her own strength. But when she sets aside weekly time to pray with others in a Moms in Prayer group, her focus on who God is and what God has done gives her all she needs to handle every situation she faces. 2 Samuel 22:33 reminds us that It is God who arms me with strength and keeps my way secure.

God loves us equally. He does not love one more because he is doing more. He does not love one less because he sinned again. No, His love is overwhelming and accessible for all of us. God, in His mercy and lovingkindness, has given us the gift of the Holy Spirit. And through Him, we have received spiritual gifts to serve Him and build up the body of Christ. And yet, our flesh can get in the way! SCRIPTURES
because, if you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. Romans 10:9 ESV
As each has received a gift, use it to serve one another, as good stewards of God's varied grace: whoever speaks, as one who speaks oracles of God; whoever serves, as one who serves by the strength that God suppliesin order that in everything God may be glorified through Jesus Christ. To him belong glory and dominion forever and ever. Amen. 1 Peter 4:10-11 ESV
Ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you. For everyone who asks receives, and the one who seeks finds, and to the one who knocks it will be opened. Or which one of you, if his son asks him for bread, will give him a stone? Or if he asks for a fish, will give him a serpent? If you then, who are evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father who is in heaven give good things to those who ask him! Matthew 7:7-11 ESV
For I do not do the good I want to do, but the evil I do not want to dothis I keep on doing Thanks be to God, who delivers me through Jesus Christ our Lord! Romans 7:19, 25a NIV
I planted the seed, Apollos watered it, but God has been making it grow. So neither the one who plants nor the one who waters is anything, but only God, who makes things grow. The one who plants and the one who waters have one purpose, and they will each be rewarded according to their own labor. 1 Corinthians 3:6-8 NIV
