Hope for the Mom who is Brokenhearted with Pat Kenney

“He is the God of comfort and the ultimate comfort is the hope we have for our future.” Today we continue our Moms in the Bible Series as Stacy talks with Pat Kenney, the Moms in Prayer North East Division Coordinator.   Listen in as she shares hope for the brokenhearted, through looking at Mary, the mother of Jesus.

About our Guest:

Pat Kenney is the Northeast Division Coordinator of Moms in Prayer (MIP) International. She has been praying for her children/granddaughter and schools through MIP since her daughters were in elementary school. Pat is married to her college sweetheart and has three adult daughters, one ‘son in love’ and an adorable granddaughter. She enjoys tennis, art, gardening and developing an abiding presence in God through His Word. Her ‘sweet spot’ is equipping moms to pray powerfully for their children and schools.

Scripture:

Scriptures on Mary found in Luke 1-2

Psalm 34:18 (NLT) The LORD is close to the brokenhearted; he rescues those whose spirits are crushed.

Luke 2:19 (NIV) But Mary treasured up all these things and pondered them in her heart.

Luke 2: 25-35 (NLT) At that time there was a man in Jerusalem named Simeon. He was righteous and devout and was eagerly waiting for the Messiah to come and rescue Israel. The Holy Spirit was upon him and had revealed to him that he would not die until he had seen the Lord’s Messiah. That day the Spirit led him to the Temple. So when Mary and Joseph came to present the baby Jesus to the Lord as the law required, Simeon was there. He took the child in his arms and praised God, saying, “Sovereign Lord, now let your servant die in peace, as you have promised. I have seen your salvation, which you have prepared for all people.
He is a light to reveal God to the nations, and he is the glory of your people Israel!” Jesus’ parents were amazed at what was being said about him. Then Simeon blessed them, and he said to Mary, the baby’s mother, “This child is destined to cause many in Israel to fall, and many others to rise. He has been sent as a sign from God, but many will oppose him. As a result, the deepest thoughts of many hearts will be revealed. And a sword will pierce your very soul.”

John 19:25-27 (NLT)  Standing near the cross were Jesus’ mother, and his mother’s sister, Mary (the wife of Clopas), and Mary Magdalene. When Jesus saw his mother standing there beside the disciple he loved, he said to her, “Dear woman, here is your son.” And he said to this disciple, “Here is your mother.” And from then on this disciple took her into his home.

Acts 1:14 (NLT) They all met together and were constantly united in prayer, along with Mary the mother of Jesus, several other women, and the brothers of Jesus.

Psalm 28:7 (NIV) The Lord is my strength and my shield; my heart trusts in him, and he helps me. My heart leaps for joy, and with my song I praise him.

Isaiah 41:10 (NIV) So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God.
I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.

She realized the warfare would be intense and to fight in this battle she needed to invite other moms to pray. She called a mom and asked her to pray with her for their children and school. Her response was an immediate “yes,” and that was the humble beginning of Moms in Prayer that now spans the USA in every state and is in more than 150countries.Fern has traveled to almost every continent in the world speaking, teaching and training women how to pray effectively. She and her husband Rle have been married 53 years. Scriptures about Sarah (Sarai) found in Genesis 12, 16-18, 21

Hebrews 11:11-12 (NIV) And by faith even Sarah, who was past childbearing age, was enabled to bear children because she considered him faithful who had made the promise. And so from this one man, and he as good as dead, came descendants as numerous as the stars in the sky and as countless as the sand on the seashore.

Psalm 138:2 (NLT) I bow before your holy Temple as I worship. I praise your name for your unfailing love and faithfulness; for your promises are backed by all the honor of your name.

Psalm 89:8 (NLT) O Jehovah, Commander of the heavenly armies, where is there any other Mighty One like you? Faithfulness is your very character.

Psalm 5:3 (NIV) In the morning, Lord, you hear my voice; in the morning I lay my requests before you and wait expectantly.

Proverbs 27:17 (NIV) As iron sharpens iron, so one person sharpens another.

Matthew 19:26 (NIV) Jesus looked at them and said, "With man this is impossible, but with God all things are possible."

Philippians 1:6 (NIV) being confident of this, that he who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus.

Romans 4:19-21(NIV) Without weakening in his faith, he faced the fact that his body was as good as dead—since he was about a hundred years old—and that Sarah’s womb was also dead. Yet he did not waver through unbelief regarding the promise of God, but was strengthened in his faith and gave glory to God, being fully persuaded that God had power to do what he had promised.

Jeremiah 32:27 (NIV)“I am the LORD, the God of all mankind. Is anything too hard for me?

Truth That Will Set You Free with Luanne Botta

“There is so much unrest with the lies coming our way, we need to know the truth.” Today Stacy talks with author and Bible teacher Luanne Botta about the armor of God.  You are not going to miss this power packed episode where Luanne passionately shares the truth about who we are and what we have in Christ. This will set you free!

About our Guest:

Luanne Botta is an author, Bible teacher and speaker who brings the gospel to life through the Word and personal testimony.  Her high energy and joyful spirit of encouragement bring an authentic transparency, making her an endearing and powerful speaker. As a high school teacher at a private Christian academy for almost 20 years, well-liked by her students, Luanne found herself in a unique role, guiding hundreds of young people through God’s Word with her uncompromising, take-no-prisoners way of speaking the truth while still showing them unconditional love. Her passion was igniting them to live their lives with a higher standard than the culture around them. From these years of ministry and the heartache experienced by her students in their teen years, Luanne authored two books to equip young people with the truth, Young Hearts. Pure Lives (for girls), and The Warrior Within(for guys). She served on the team for national singer, speaker and author, Kathy Troccoli, traveling the country as part of a ministry that has ushered thousands of women to the throne of God’s grace. The release of Luanne’s  newest book, Spiritual Warfare and the Armor of God, will be out May 2021!

Scripture:

Armor of God

Ephesians 6:10-17 (NASB)- Finally, be strong in the Lord and in the strength of His might. Put on the full armor of God, so that you will be able to stand firm against the schemes of the devil. For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the powers, against the world forces of this darkness, against the spiritual forces of wickedness in the heavenly places. Therefore, take up the full armor of God, so that you will be able to resist on the evil day, and having done everything, to stand firm. Stand firm therefore, having belted your waist with truth, and having put on the breastplate of righteousness, and having strapped on your feet the preparation of the gospel of peace; in addition to all, taking up the shield of faith with which you will be able to extinguish all the flaming arrows of the evil one.  And take the helmet of salvation and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God.

Gird your loins with the Gospel of Truth –

John 14:6 (NASB) Jesus said to him, "I am the way, and the truth, and the life; no one comes to the Father but through Me.”

Breast Plate of Righteous –

2Corinthians 5:21(NASB) He made Him who knew no sin to be sin on our behalf, so that we might become the righteousness of God in Him.

Shod your feet with the Gospel of Peace –

John 14:27 (NASB) "Peace I leave with you; My peace I give to you; not as the world gives do I give to you. Do not let your heart be troubled, nor let it be fearful.

Take up the Shield of Faith –

Romans 4:20-21 (NASB)  yet, with respect to the promise of God, he did not waver in unbelief but grew strong in faith, giving glory to God, and being fully assured that what God had promised, He was able also to perform.

The Helmet of Salvation

2Corinthians 10:3-6 (NASB)- For though we walk in the flesh, we do not war according to the flesh, for the weapons of our warfare are not of the flesh, but divinely powerful for the destruction of fortresses.  We are destroying speculations and every lofty thing raised up against the knowledge of God, and we are taking every thought captive to the obedience of Christ,

The Sword of the Spirit which is the Living Word of God

1John 4:4 (NASB)- You are from God, little children, and have overcome them; because greater is He who is in you than he who is in the world.

Isaiah 54:17 (NASB)- No weapon that is formed against you will succeed;
And you will condemn every tongue that accuses you in judgment.
This is the heritage of the servants of the Lord,
And their vindication is from Me,” declares the Lord.

Hebrews 4:12a (NASB)-  For the word of God is living and active, and sharper than any two-edged sword.
