Episode 202: Parenting Series – Raising Wholehearted Kids, with Dr. Danny Huerta

This is the first episode in our fall parenting series. As parents ourselves, we know parents need a lot of support. It’s normal to feel overwhelmed and unsure about what messages and parenting philosophies to trust. In this episode we talk with parenting expert, Dr. Danny Huerta. Listen in as we talk about; the common struggles parents are facing today, what a mentally healthy child and home really look like, practical tools to help build healthy children who know they are loved and love others well, and how parents can care for themselves well as they balance the weight of so many demands.

Dr. Daniel Huerta, PSYD, MSW, LCSW, LSSW, oversees Focus on the Family’s initiatives that equip mothers and fathers with biblical principles and counsel for raising healthy, resilient children. A bilingual, licensed clinical social worker, Dr. Huerta commonly addresses issues related to parenting such as communication, conflict resolution, spiritual growth, discipline, stress, anxiety, depression, media discernment and healthy sexuality. He has maintained a private practice in Colorado Springs since 2003 and served as a board member of the El Paso County Mental Health Association for almost four years.
