We think children should be encouraged to ask questions and actively engage God as they encounter Scripture. On this podcast, we provide space to enter God's good words together, wonder about them, and talk with God about what we find.

The Big Truths Bible Storybook with Aaron Armstrong

This week Amy and Mike talk with author Aaron Armstrong about his new "Big Truths Bible Storybook" for kids.

What is truth? Can we make up our own truth? In the “Big Truths Bible Storybook”, readers ages 6 to 10 will learn that God’s Word is the source of all truth. They'll find 52 stories each tied to a big truth found in the Bible. For example, through Joseph's story, kids will see that God is in control of everything in heaven and on earth. Through David's story, they'll learn that grace is when God gives us something good even when we don't deserve it.

Full Circle Parenting

This week Amy and Mike talk with authors Jimmy and Krsitin Scroggins about their book, Full Circle Parenting.

Parenting isn’t for wimps.

It's not just the routines, schedules, discipline, and heartaches—it's the hard conversations. One of the greatest challenges of parenting is navigating the crucial conversations that we must have with our kids.

Jimmy and Kristin Scroggins have been married for more than twenty five years and have eight children. Jimmy pastors a church in South Florida. They’ve had plenty of crucial conversations in their lives—not only with their own children, but with parents who are scared and seeking wisdom. They know they have to find a way to have those tough conversations from a biblical perspective and a distinctly Christian worldview, but they don’t know how.

If you’re like these parents, Full Circle Parenting was written for you. Using the 3 Circles gospel tool (God’s design; brokenness; gospel), Jimmy and Kristin will give you a “conversation map” to work through any tough conversations you have with your children, and will show you how it works with the following topics and more: gender, sexuality, marriage, technology, alcohol and substance abuse, bitterness, forgiveness, and restoration, friendship and mean kids.

Lexi Young Pack - What Do You Say to a Dragon?

This week host Amy Parker and Mike Nawrocki talk with Author Lexi Young Pack about her new book What Do You Say to a Dragon, a whimsical book that empowers children to express their emotions and use their imaginations to change the power dynamic of anxiety while also giving parents a healthy approach to helping their kids face fears.

Lexi Peck is one of six children and the daughter of William Paul Young, author of The Shack. She was raised and still resides in the Pacific Northwest on a farm raising cattle with her husband, Josh, and their two children, Vivian and Xander.

She graduated summa cum laude from Portland State University with a BA in psychology, centering her studies on childhood development. Her passion to deeply understand how children develop and thrive in the world became a driving focus. Lexi became a children's author with the intention of passing on her insight to those who are hoping to engage parenting to the fullest.

Lexi's first children's book, What Do You Say to a Dragon?, was born out of a real-life situation with her daughter, Vivian, waking from a recurring nightmare.
