Ep. 46 : Discipling Your Kids in the Fruits of the Spirit with Christie Thomas

Today we’re talking about the fruits of the spirit and how to grow deeper in our faith and walk with the Lord as individuals and as families.

love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control

We’ve heard them, memorized them and have them as decorations on our walls and yet…

They are really hard to live out – and even harder to teach your kids, especially when you feel like you are continually sowing seeds and seeing little to no fruit!

Joining me to discuss this topic is the author of Fruit Full: 100 Family Experiences For Growing in the Fruit of the Spirit, Christie Thomas.

Christie is passionate about teaching Christian moms that they don’t need to know it all to teach their kids how to grow in their faith but rather, they can lean into the One who knows all the answers.

In this episode we’re diving into:

  • How to avoid treating our relationship with God like a checklist
  • Discipling both younger and older children in the fruits of the spirit
  • The importance of being our children’s primary discipler

Don’t miss a moment as Christie shares a very interesting statistic of just who our children say the main spiritual influence really is in their lives…can you guess who it is?
