I am just overjoyed to be sharing this book with parents and giving them the tools they need to talk to their kids about a subject that can feel daunting, uncomfortable, scary, painful or just too difficult. Or maybe a mix of all of those things. I am here to help! You all have been asking for this book for years and I have been praying I could write it for years and now, I have. Please go ahead and pre-order it now as that is tremendously helpful in the reach this book will have. And then share the heck out of it, OK? Ill need your help in getting this book into as many homes as I possible can.

And now, for the rest of todays episode:  I get to speak with Anna Sutherland and our conversation it going to inspire and excite you! Anna and her husband Nathan are the founders of Gospel Tech, an organization that exists to equip families to use tech in a God honoring way in a tech saturated world. Rather than painting all tech as bad, Anna and Nathan want to help families talk about tech, communicate the gospel and connect the hope in the gospel to the use of tech. It is a beautiful mission and they are doing it so well!

In alignment with that mission, Anna just wrote a book called The Graceful Disconnect:  25 Days to a Quieter Heart in a Tech Saturated World. In this episode I get to talk with Anna and Nathan, but really focus on Annas book. Next week youll get to hear from Nathan and his book! Annas book is a challenge, but it is a doable challenge. And an inspiring one that most of us, if were honest, need to take part in. I cant wait for you to learn more as you listen.

Some favorite quotes from todays episode:

*Moms, this is why I am writing to you. As much as wed like to turn a blind eye to that screen time number that pops up (our own and our childrens) we simply cannot. We are fools if we think the conditions of our hearts arent impacted by what we digitally consume. Anna Sutherland

*Most conversations take at least seven minutes to really begin. Sherry Turkle

*The car is a space where we default to isolation. What if, instead, it became a place for conversation and connection? Anna Sutherland

*You can speak a common language because you share the time in the car instead of everyone doing their own thing. Greta Eskridge

*Even as a kid, I recognized there was a break in connection when people put their headphones on. Greta Eskridge

*Were playing the long game as parents. We want these kids to launch and to be successful adults. Our job is teach them how to do that. Life is a parenting opportunity. Anna Sutherland

*Tech is the easy default because we dont have to deal with our kids. But easy is not the goal. Anna Sutherland

*My grandma was a stay-at-home mom and her ministry was cookies. Thats attainable. I can make cookies! And she prayed for us every day and its incredible to have that kind of prayer covering. She made a difference for the kingdom. Anna Sutherland

How Do I Respond When My Child Sees Porn? with Barb Winters

If you havent left a review of The Greta Eskridge Podcast or of Gretas new book, Its Time to Talk to Your Kids About Porn, would you consider doing it today? Reviews are incredibly helpful for getting the word out about both podcasts and books. Your words are the best way for people to be introduced to these resources.

Todays episode is very important and so powerful. I get to have a really honest conversation with Barb Winters about how to respond when a child sees, or even seeks out, pornography.

Barb Winters is the founder of Hopeful Moms, where she supports parents in an online world. She has created a safe space for parents to discuss difficult topics. And Barb is such an incredibly helpful voice in a very lonely place. She bravely shares her own story of walking through her sons confession of porn use, porn addiction and then his recovery.  So many parents dont feel safe sharing their own story like this so Barb gives them the place to do this.

In this episode Barb and I discuss all kinds of important and helpful information, such as: how to respond to a childs confession of pornography use or exposure, dealing with our own grief in this situation, understanding the predatory nature of the pornography industry, how pornography impacts the user physically, emotionally and spiritually, teaching our kids the goodness of sex, that recovery and restoration are possible, how to remain hopeful in a dark and lonely time and so much more.

Wherever you are at in your parenting journey, I know this episode will bless you. And if you are walking through this situation right now, know you are not alone! Barb and I are giving you a virtual hug.

I am so excited to share this episode with you all! And I have some big news to share with you! But first, I want to thank you for the way you have showed up during my book release. The pre-orders, the shares on social media and all the supportive messages and love have meant more to you than youll ever know. Now lets keep going and get this book into the hands of as many people as we can. It is already changing lives! If you havent ordered your book yet, you can get it here.

Now onto the show! My guest today is Jaime Fenwick, the founder of Bringing Inspiration Home, lover of slow and intentional travel, photographer and home schooling mom of 3.  Jaime loves the idea of bringing the inspiration of any kind of travel, and especially slow travel, home to her family and day to day life.

One of the ways she does this is with her womens walking retreats in the Cotswolds of England.

AND THE BIG NEWS IS: I get to team up with Jaime on this trip and you can come!

Each aspect of these retreats are designed by Jaime. She is a gifted planner and detail oriented and has created these retreats to be so fulfilling in every way.

First, it is a gift to have all the details planned for you. No decision fatigue! Jaime has all the details taken care ofwhere well sleep each night (quaint and cozy inns!) where well eat (local restaurants and pubs!) and the beautiful section of the trail that well walk through the Cotswolds. Luggage is ferried from place to place for us and we only carry a day pack and hiking poles.

How incredible it will be to unplug, slow down from our frantic pace of life and enjoy in nature and together. For you it might be a time to find space to celebrate, heal, connect with your soul, with God, or with a friend. It might be a time to adventure, have fun, or seek creative inspiration. No matter what, I know it will be good for us, mind, body and spirit.

How to Talk to Your Kids About Porn, Finding Freedom from Shame, and Parenting with Compassion and Hope with Greta Eskridge and Megan Marshman

Podcast friends! It is a big day around here! Today is the one-year anniversary of the Greta Eskridge Podcast! One year of hanging with you every single week. Thank you for being here and being a part of this journey.

Also, my new book, Its Time to Talk to Your Kids About Porn, comes out today! This book has been over 15 years in the making. Its been 15 years of prayers, sometimes tears, of learning, and of hope. And today, you can hold it in your hands.  In honor of the book coming out today, my dear friend Megan Marshman is my guest host, and she is interviewing me

Megan and I talk about how I became an unlikely porn fighter, how God grew compassion in my heart for my husband and so many other victims of pornography, and how God gave me a vision of hope and generational change for my own family and yours. We also model what it looks like to talk to your kids about porn whether theyre younger, older, have already seen porn or not. We show you that this conversation doesnt have to be as scary or difficult as you think it will be.

Megan and I are thrilled to share this hopeful conversation with you. And if you havent ordered my new book yet, today is the day! You can find it right here.
