While they were still talking about this, Jesus himself stood among them and said to them, Peace be with you. Luke 24:36 NIV

You will keep in perfect peace those whose minds are steadfast, because they trust in you. Isaiah 26:3 NIV

Thus says the Lord, your Redeemer, the Holy One of Israel: I am the Lord your God, who teaches you to profit, who leads you in the way you should go. Oh that you had paid attention to my commandments! Then your peace would have been like a river, and your righteousness like the waves of the sea; Isaiah 48:17-18 ESV

Rejoice in the Lord always. I will say it again: Rejoice! Let your gentleness be evident to all. The Lord is near. Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus. Philippians 4:4-7 NIV

They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint. Isaiah 40:28-31 NIV

But this I call to mind, and therefore I have hope: The steadfast love of the Lord never ceases; his mercies never come to an end; they are new every morning; great is your faithfulness. Lamentations 3:21-23 ESV

And Mary said: My soul glorifies the Lord and my spirit rejoices in God my Savior, for he has been mindful of the humble state of his servant. Barriers to Prayer & How to Overcome Them w Mary Jane Geers

When we devote ourselves, when we love the Lord our God more than anyone or anything else, then idols will have to fall. Today our Moms in Prayer Michigan State Coordinator, Mary Jane Geers, joins us to talk about overcoming barriers to prayer. Prayer isnt always the easiest, most convenient or comfortable thing to do, but the fruit that comes from it lasts for eternity. Listen in as Mary Jane takes us to Gods Word and reminds us Who holds the victory.

The Moms in Prayer Podcast is a part of the Christian Parenting Podcast Network. To find practical and spiritual advice to help you grow into the parent you want to be visit ChristianParenting.org

ABOUT OUR GUESTS

Wrestling with inner arguments immediately began after receiving an invitation to a Moms in Prayer group: Ill sound like a fool. I dont have time for that. Whats the point? Fears, idols, and doubts rose up in opposition to what Mary Jane knew was the right thing to do. She didnt feel like doing the uncomfortable, the inconvenient, nor the irrational.

But God.

Through Holy Spirits conviction and empowerment, she said yes to a friends (and the Lords) invitation to attend a Moms in Prayer group. Despite the fear of others, the opposition of her flesh, and the lies of the enemy, she showed up. And is beyond glad that she did!

Mary Jane cannot imagine how radically different life would have been without Moms in Prayer.

Now 20 years later, after her first yes to Moms in Prayer, she can testify that she has seen many children, including her own three daughters, grow up to love, serve and follow the Lord. In addition, by Gods grace, school communities have been sustained and strengthened despite the temptations and trials of this world. Finally, praying Gods good and beautiful word has helped her and other moms to live victoriously in Christ instead of unnecessarily defeated by the enemy.

Praise be to Jesus Christ, who has destroyed the barriers! Fellow sisters in Christ, may we demolish arguments and be found faithful to follow the Lord, no matter what He asks us to do, especially with Moms in Prayer.

SCRIPTURES

We must demolish arguments and every pretension that sets itself up against the knowledge of God, and we take captive every thought to make it obedient to Christ. 2 Corinthians 10:5 NIV

For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind. 2 Timothy 1:7 NKJV

Therefore submit to God. Resist the devil and he will flee from you. James 4:7 NKJV

Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind and with all your strength. Mark 12:30 NIV

But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well.

Matthew 6:33 NIV

not giving up meeting together, as some are in the habit of doing, but encouraging one anotherand all the more as you see the Day approaching. Hebrews 10:25 NIV

But when you ask, you must believe and not doubt, because the one who doubts is like a wave of the sea, blown and tossed by the wind. James 1:6 NIV

Gods Great Love Casts Out Fear | Part Two w Fern Nichols

When youre in the Word daily and see Gods love over and over again, it gets easier to immediately trust Him. And that then means the fear is not there. Fear is not of God because God is love. Today we welcome back Moms in Prayer Founder, Fern Nichols, for part two of Gods Great Love Casts Out Fear. She helps us fill our arsenals with Gods Word to fight against the enemy and soak in the truth of Gods love. God not only shows us His great love, He IS love. And that changes everything.

The Moms in Prayer Podcast is a part of the Christian Parenting Podcast Network. To find practical and spiritual advice to help you grow into the parent you want to be visit ChristianParenting.org

ABOUT OUR GUEST

Fern Nichols is a former elementary school teacher and the founder of Moms in Prayer International, a prayer movement that mobilizes women around the world to gather together to pray for their children and schools. In 1984, Fern was fearful about sending her two eldest children off to junior high. She knew the school would be a battlefield for their hearts and minds. She realized the warfare would be intense and to fight in this battle she needed to invite other moms to pray. She called a mom and asked her to pray with her for their children and school. Her response was an immediate yes, and that was the humble beginning of Moms in Prayer that now spans the USA in every state and is in more than 150 countries. Fern has traveled to almost every continent in the world speaking, teaching and training women how to pray effectively. She and her husband Rle have been married for over 50 years. They were involved with Campus Crusade for Christ (now CRU) for 15 years. They have four children and 10 grandchildren.

SCRIPTURES

Do not be afraid, little flock, for your Father has been pleased to give you the kingdom. Luke 12:32 NIV

But you, beloved, building yourselves up in your most holy faith and praying in the Holy Spirit, keep yourselves in the love of God, waiting for the mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ that leads to eternal life. Jude 1:20-21 ESV

See what great love the Father has lavished on us, that we should be called children of God! And that is what we are! The reason the world does not know us is that it did not know him. 1 John 3:1 NIV

And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose. Romans 8:28 NIV

He answered, Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength and with all your mind; and, Love your neighbor as yourself. Luke 10:27 NIV

Then the world will know that you sent me and have loved them even as you have loved me. John 17:23b NIV

And I pray that Christ will be more and more at home in your hearts, living within you as you trust in him. May your roots go down deep into the soil of Gods marvelous love; and may you be able to feel and understand, as all Gods children should, how long, how wide, how deep, and how high his love really is; Ephesians 3:17-18 TLB

When I am afraid,

I will trust in you.

In God, whose word I praise,

in God I trust; I will not be afraid.

What can mere mortals do to me? Psalm 56:3-4 CSB

Praise the Lord, my soul;

all my inmost being, praise his holy name.

Praise the Lord, my soul,

and forget not all his benefits

who forgives all your sins

    and heals all your diseases,

who redeems your life from the pit

and crowns you with love and compassion,

But from everlasting to everlasting

the Lords love is with those who fear him,

and his righteousness with their childrens children

with those who keep his covenant

and remember to obey his precepts. Psalm 103:1-4, 17-18 NIV
