Video summary: With sad changes happening to their family, Ada and Otto wonder if there is anything to rejoice about this Advent season.
On that day they will say to Jerusalem, “Do not fear, Zion; do not let your hands hang limp. The Lord your God is with you, the Mighty Warrior who saves.” Zephaniah 3:16–17a
Ada and Otto were sad because their Grandma was moving into assisted living. That meant she would not be hosting Christmas at her house anymore! Change is hard, and sometimes changes make us sad, especially when it impacts loved ones and family traditions. But as Ada and Otto learned, there are still reasons to celebrate even during change. No matter what happens, no matter what we go through, the Lord is with us.
- What is one of your family Christmas traditions?
- What do you like to do with your grandparents or older relatives?
- How does it feel to know that God is always with you?
Pray together: Dear God, thank you for being with us always. Please bless our grandparents and the elderly people we know and love in our community. Amen.
